HOMEWORK - due tomorrow - Find a CD cover online that you think has a good design. Be prepared to tell us what you like about it. We need to all be able to search & find it quickly online during class.

Finish your exquisite corpse practice project today. Remember to reference the instructions in the class folder to make sure you fulfill all of the requirements. If the instructions also specify how to turn in your project, please follow them ( I can't remember if I added it). If not, follow these instructions:
  1. Make sure you save your final Photoshop PSD file into your student account first.
  2. Save your final Photoshop PSD file into the appropriate folder in the class folder (Folders on Payton/Class Folders/Art/Gran Mixed Media/EXC/yourletter_template) (A_template, B_template, etc.)
  3. While your project is open in Photoshop, Click on the top right corner icon in the layers palette, choose "Flatten Image".
  4. Save image as a jpeg, full quality (12) into the same template folder that you just saved your PSD file.
  5. If there's time, one person from each group can place all the jpeg files into the template file.
Please help each other with Photoshop questions! Ask your peers if you get stuck. See you tomorrow. Ms. Gran

For students not on fieldtrip. Tuesday 11-1-11

We will be working in Apple's GarageBand for our new project. We will be getting a tutorial on our fieldtrip, so you should complete a Garage Band Tutorial online to stay on track. This site has very thorough tutorials. http://blog.macformusicians.com/2010/07/13/garageband-tutorials/ A good place to start is "Garage Band Interface" under "Recording with Garage Band" . If you are already familiar with GarageBand, then look through the site's tutorials to learn more about a specific topic in depth. We will be working in groups, so you can be your group's GarageBand expert! We probably have a slightly older version of GarageBand on our Mac laptops, but it shouldn't be too different. There are also a few Macs in the back of 314 that you could take turns practicing on. Please email me any questions you have after watching the tutorials. Also, if you know of another or better tutorial site, let me know. Have fun.

If you were absent the day we created our own QR codes, you can do that also. Follow the directions below, but instead of printing, email me the image according to my instructions in the last line.

If you finish early, please peruse the sound links below.

Try scanning your code with a smartphone's QR reader to make sure it works and is yours.
Carefully cut out square using the scissors or the trimmers in the back of the room.
LIGHTLY write your name in pencil on the back of the square so it doesn't show through to the front.
Place square in clear container by the teacher computer.
If you don't finish, email me the image at JMGran@cps.edu, in the correct size, so I can print it onto cardstock.
